forest greens

The cool, damp moss of a forest carpet is one of my favorite memories from playing in the woods as a child.

maple best

Found in the NH woods up near Crawford Notch, there is something to be said for visiting the NH mountains at peak color!

Big Sky marsh

The marsh behind the cottage we rent in Wells also gives off alot of color and dynamic clouds as a thunderstorm clears.

tidal pools at Nubble Light

We have a tradition of visiting Nubble LIght in York each time we go to Wells (which includes a visit also to the Goldenrod taffy store and Bill and Bob's silver store)- the tidal pools here are like mirrors with great surprises beneath the surface.

Summer puddles

We often have a full force storm that will come through Wells Beach in the afternoon, enveloping the beach and creating great reflective puddles in the streets.

5:30am reward

I often get up early (with no alarm clocK) at Wells Beach, just in time to catch the beautiful sunrises off Kennebunkport, with amazing colors and cool ocean air.

New England cottages

the architecture in New England is well represented from Maine to Cape Cod by the shingled cottage. These are seen from the cottage that we rent in Wells Beach each summer.

Aspen water

We found this aspen leaf with a perfect waterdroplet in the middle...a mini-mirror of my world.

Block Island retreat

My girls and I enjoyed a beautiful beach day, ferry ride and ice cream on Block Island this summer. A beautiful island with a nice, laid back environment.

elm bank waterway

The water that leads through Elm Bank has many personalities, depending on the season, the sun and the weather. On this cold but clear February day, it looked dark and inviting...and cold.

"bear"

A real cutie at the organic farm, he's into everything and following everyone. And if you saw the size of his paws, well, you'd understand his name!

sugar time

My students and enjoy setting up the sap buckets on local maples for sugaring at our local organic farm. Elm Bank in Natick is the perfect place to spend a morning in the snow and sun prepping the trees.

winter berries

The crystals of ice were on everything this day...and the backlight from the sun made these high bush cranberries glow in the sunlight at the local organic farm.

snow ferns

Amazing crystals of ice formed on the very cold wire fence at the Organic Farm this past winter. I'm glad I could focus well to show the leafy structures.
